I'll say that removing the stickers is easy and does set the look off better. It just gives it that custom appearance.
I'll even go further to say that I can't believe how many bikes look stock in the "paint-job" department.
Not only did I remove my Savage and Suzuki decals, but I added home-made decals. Now, I will add that up close you CAN see the original decal impressions and my decal job is somewhat amaturish. But I literally have very little money ($20) into the "look" of my bike.
People notice my bike. I'm pretty sure that any bike I own I will customize the look of the body parts (tank, fenders, etc.). Only because I'm "playing around" with my Savage did I do the decals myself. If I buy another bike, let's say an expensive one, I'll pay to have a cool paint job. There are so many "cookie cutter" stock bikes out there.
Just to show you and example, go to my web link below. Click on PHOTOS. Scroll from the top to bottom. You will see my bike in current form at the top and the day I bought it at the bottom. In between are the transformations. Notice how *plain* the bike looks before the decals? (By the way, I've since added another "flame" to the front fender, it needed more than the ones on top only).
At my site under "Tips & How-to's" you'll see my Tribal Flame Decal link. Check it out if you want to remove or add decals to your bike.
Have fun with it...
